In Colorado there are 15 Field Hockey High School teams. The standard of field hockey has been growing stronger each year and Colorado is now becoming a fast growing feeder for the National team at many different age groups, men and women.

Colorado usually takes a number of teams to the Cal-Cup Festival and the National Field Hockey Festival. Colorado also has the USA Futures program for U14, U16 and U19 from March - May. There have been a number of players chosen for the National Futures Trials and USA Junior Olympic team.

OUT OF SEASON FIELD HOCKEY

Summer League - MIDDLES AND HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS
Where: Kent Denver School
When: Wednesdays 4.30-6.30pm June 23rd - Aug 4th
Who: High School and Middle School Players

We will have a league format with 4 teams playing per hour. Summer 6-a-side half field games. A total of 8 teams of 10 will be created. (Please indicate 4 other players you would like to play with as we will pair people up as best we can for carpooling). Games will be 1 hour with a coach and officials for each game. The season is 7 weeks.

Options:
1) Players can sign up for all 7 sessions and will be on a permanent team
2) Players can do a drop in option and will be on a different team each time
Cost: Cost is $50 for full summer or $10 per session for drop in
Players MUST be a USFHA member (www.usfieldhockey.org )

HS players who do HS league only pay for $20 for adult league

Reffing: We will have 2 NON-PLAYING refs per game. Some refs will be from the CFHUA, however to fill any gaps we will have signups for officiating.

Reffing Discount: You can sign up for a hour of reffing the adults or youth and if you ref 7 or more hours then the league is free. Please let us know if you are interested in reffing and what times and dates.

Description of Camp:
This is a beginner level Field Hockey Camp. This camp will focus on teaching
the basic skills and strategies of the game. This is an excellent opportunity
to learn the game and play a team sport! Campers will receive a
t-shirt and ball. Players may come prepared with their own stick, shin
guards and mouth guard OR stick packages (includes stick, shin guard and
mouth guard) can be purchased on first day of camp for $40.00. All players
should bring sunscreen and water. It is strongly recommended that
players pre-register, but players will be able to register the first day
of camp.

GRANDVIEW EXPERIENCED FIELD HOCKEY CAMP (June 14-18)
Open to: Girls, Grades 10-12
Time: 7:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

Description of Camp:
This field hockey camp is intended to be for intermediate to advanced
players. Athletes must bring stick, mouthguard, shinguards, sunscreen
and water bottle. The camp will be emphasizing individual skills,
game strategies, and conditioning for field hockey. Campers will receive a
t-shirt and ball.

Description of Camp:
This is a field hockey training camp. Purpose of this camp is two-fold. First
goal is to work on fundamental stick skills, game strategies, and conditioning
over the summer so players come to pre-season in shape. The second
goal is to prepare some of these players (who choose to) for the State
Games Tournament in Colorado Springs July 29-August 1.
